Roger Gibson:Sculpture

Roger Gibson has a degree in Fine Art and a background in Advertising, Graphics and College Lecturing. He has been working full-time as an artist since 1998. To make his sculptures and installations he is able to draw from an extensive archive of found objects he has built up over time. He works both independently and in collaboration with other artists and it helps that he is based in one of the largest studio complexes in the UK: Persistence Works, Sheffield.

He has completed numerous public arts projects and in connection with one of these became a Millennium Fellow in 2002. In 2003 he undertook a period of research and development funded by the Arts Council. This led to a new body of work, which included an interactive installation of 40 suitcases. His primary aim is to intrigue and provoke thought in as wide an audience as possible. He welcomes exhibiting opportunities in the UK, Europe, USA and beyond.
